Awards, honors, and recognition

Ed Scannell is the recipient of numerous awards and honors.  Among them are: 

  In October 2006, Ed was named a "Legend" of the Speaking Profession by the Veteran Speakers Roundtable.   
  In June 2005, he was selected as "Mentor of the Year" by the Arizona Sunbelt Chapter of MPI-Meeting Professionals International.  
  In July 1999, he was selected as recipient of the "Cavett Award," the highest individual award given by the National Speaker's Association (NSA).  
  In both 1984 and 1988, Ed was the recipient of the "President's Award," given by the National Speaker's Association.  NSA annually awards this to one member (from the total membership of 208,000) for outstanding contribution to the Association.  
  In July 1995, he was named as MPI's International Planner of the Year  
  In July 1986, he earned NSA's highest earned designation, the CSP -Certified Speaking Professional, .   
  In June 1996, he earned his CMP - Certified Meetings Professional by the Convention Industry Council.   
  In June 1986, he was selected as the Arizona Sunbelt Chapter "Meeting Planner of the Year."   
  In 1975, he was named winner of the Gordon M. Bliss Award, ASTD's (American Society for Training and Development) highest individual recognition.   
  In addition to these honors, Ed is also listed in several "Who's Who" directories such as Leaders in Education, Who's Who in the West, The Dictionary of International Biography and Men of Achievement.
